Health in Action: Athens Wellness Clinic Empowers Community at Resource Fair

What’s In Our BackPack?

On Saturday, March 22nd, Athens Wellness Clinic participated in the 2025 Resources Fair, held at the Lay Park Community Center. The event, organized by The Backpack Project of Athens, saw a dedicated team from the clinic—including Hannah Matthewson, Tristen Blocker, Mary Kate Smith, Jacquez Kennebrew, and Dr. Brian Seagraves—providing essential health screenings for underserved community members. The clinic's pharmacy team and interns conducted screenings for blood pressure, blood glucose, and Hepatitis C, while also offering valuable health and wellness education. Several attendees were found to have elevated blood pressure and glucose levels, and they were provided with educational resources and referred to the Athens Wellness Clinic for further evaluation and care.
